Most virtual appliances included in the collection can be used immediately for lab and learning purposes using the vendor’s built-in evaluation or trial licensing.
The exact trial period depends on the vendor and product.
After a trial expires, you can usually continue your lab work by deploying a fresh instance of the appliance. In some cases, you can also back up your configuration, deploy a new node, and restore the configuration.

FortiGate Example
FortiGate includes a 14-day evaluation license.
When the evaluation period expires, you can:
- Back up the configuration.
- Deploy a new FortiGate node.
- Restore the backup.
- Continue your lab work.

If you plan to use any appliance in a production environment, you should obtain the appropriate commercial license directly from the vendor.
